Part of the former Jesuit College, this church is one of the largest temples in the Azores. In baroque style, the church is a good example of Portuguese religious art from the 17th century.
Inside, we emphasize the gilded woodcarving altarpieces, the 18th century tile panels, the pulpits, the altar in wrought silver and the sacristy’s chest in palo santo wood.
